Letter: Support Camas school levies

By Ellen L. Burton, Camas
Published: February 5, 2021, 6:00am

Crocodile hunter Steve Irwin said, “Education is all about being excited about something. Seeing passion and enthusiasm helps push an educational message.” Joyous shouts when the ball swishes through the Unified Basketball net, relieved sighs when solving FIRST Robotics problems; that’s passion and enthusiasm. This is what two Camas School District replacement levies fund — programming, technology, operations — rounding out outstanding teaching. They contribute up to 20 percent of the Camas district budget while your investment, local tax rate, decreases 14 percent to $4.77 per $1,000 of assessed value from $5.56 through 2024.

Vote “Yes” to invest in community by Feb. 9.
