We’re off to see the wizard — again!

A new adaptation of the classic novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” is in the works, with Nicole Kassell on board as its director, Deadline reported Tuesday.

The novel previously inspired the 1939 musical movie “The Wizard of Oz” starring Judy Garland.

“While the 1939 musical is part of my DNA, I am exhilarated and humbled by the responsibility of re-imagining such a legendary tale,” Kassell said in a statement, according to Deadline.

The opportunity to examine the original themes — the quest for courage, love, wisdom and home — feels more timely and urgent than ever. These are profoundly iconic shoes to fill, and I am eager to dance alongside these heroes of my childhood as we pave a newly minted yellow brick road.”

Kassell also said she’s “incredibly honored” to be working on the movie, which is being made by the production studio New Line Cinema.

“The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” book, which was penned by L. Frank Baum and released in 1900, follows the character of Dorothy, who meets a series of fantastical characters after a cyclone takes her to the Land of Oz.

Kassell has previously directed episodes of popular series such as “Watchmen,” “Westworld” and “The Leftovers.”
