Letter: City council should respect residents

I think it is a shame for the Vancouver City Council to wreck a nice neighborhood like the Heights with the gargantuan and ugly Tower Mall project. If anything is built there it should reflect the existing neighborhood with owner-occupied homes instead of 1,800 squeezed-in rental apartments.

The council says we should accept this as the wave of the future instead of trying to preserve the quality of life in Vancouver. I think those councillors that think this is a good idea should be replaced by leaders that respect the people that live here and vote for them instead of prioritizing the developer’s profits.
