1A Trico football: La Center 45, Goldendale 13

Senior quarterback Tom Lambert threw for three touchdowns and rushed for two more as the La Center Wildcats routed the Goldendale Timberwolves in a 1A Trico League contest Friday night at La Center.

The game was the first contest at Wildcat Stadium since November 5, 2019.

Lambert, who was named the WIAA football player of the week, had 128 yards rushing and 253 yards passing. Two of his three touchdown passes came in a 20-point third quarter that put the game out of reach.

Bryten Schmitz added one rushing and receiving touchdown each for the Wildcats (2-0). Micah Adams and Levi Giles added touchdown catches for La Center.

Kale Bomberger threw for 226 yards and two scores for Goldendale (0-2).
