Letter: Save C-W Parent Co-op Preschool

By Mindy O'Neil, President of the Co-op, Washougal
Published: January 3, 2021, 6:00am

Don’t let the 80-year-old Camas-Washougal Parent Co-op Preschool be another casualty to COVID-19. The co-op is a mainstay of this community, providing a safe environment in which generations of students have been encouraged to grow, play, and learn. That’s because our school is more than just an educational institution. We are a community. We are family.

In a time when children are suffering in ways we likely won’t see the full effect of for many years, safely opening our doors has made a monumental difference. Unfortunately, as a nonprofit with little margin for loss, our current low enrollment means we are struggling to keep our doors open. If we cannot raise enough to pay our staff and our bills, our doors will close for good on Feb. 19. We humbly ask for your help to keep this little piece of our town’s history alive.

Give at https://www.gofundme.com/f/save-the-camaswashougal-coop-preschool .

Thank you! You have no idea what your gift means to our small but mighty community and to the thousands of children that will walk through our doors for many more decades to come.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
