Let it be recorded that on Jan. 6, 2021, the United States was the subject of an attempted insurrection during which five people died and dozens were hurt; another 4,000 Americans died from COVID-19 virus; there were over 255,000 new infections recorded (per Worldometer); and the Dow Jones thought there was sufficient cause that day to add another 437 points to its morbid obesity.

There are those who ask what’s wrong with this country, I ask what’s right with it?

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
