Van Mall Retirement staff, residents celebrate first doses of COVID-19 vaccine

As Bill Hess has observed in recent months, there’s an excitement for life returning to residents at Van Mall Retirement in Vancouver.

“They’re more upbeat. They have the twinkle in their eye back again,” said Hess, Van Mall’s general manager.

That verve was very much alive on Friday, when staff and residents received first doses of the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
