After years of fundraising and a year of construction, the new Ridgefield Community Library is having its grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting 10:30 a.m. Friday at 210 N. On the big screen

Enjoy movies at the Port of Ridgefield from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Fridays through Aug. 6 at 111 W. Division St., Ridgefield. Friday Night Flicks is a fundraiser for the Police Activities League of Southwest Washington, Clark County Historical Museum, Ridgefield Main Street, Rocksolid Community Teen Center and Leadership Clark County. Friday’s film is “Zootopia” (PG). Buy tickets ($25 per person or $400 for the series) at cchmuseum.org/calendar/fnf.

Park it

Start the weekend off right with Vancouver Parks and Recreation’s Free Friday Night Movies in the Parks, every Friday from 8 to 10 p.m. through Aug. 27 at a different Vancouver park. Family-friendly, closed-captioned movies begin at dusk. Bring a picnic, blankets and lawn chairs. Some vendors may be on-site. Friday’s movie is “Trolls World Tour” (PG) at Fruit Valley Park, 3200 Fruit Valley Road. See the complete schedule at www.cityofvancouver.us/movies.
