Letter: Trump lacks character, grace

By Jane Sturm, Battle Ground
Published: July 19, 2021, 6:00am

In response to Dick Kuiper’s letter (“Spendthrifts left in charge,” Our Readers’ Views, July 7): If, in his opinion, Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders are Laurel and Hardy, Trump and Pence are Beavis and Butthead.

Apparently Mr. Kuiper is a man of privilege and good fortune with no comprehension of the struggle many Americans face. He opposes paying people a living wage and is worried about taxpayers’ money? Since he made so many disparaging remarks about Democrats, I’m only assuming he’s a Trumpublican. Mr. Kuiper, do you think your tax dollars were better spent making Donald Trump and his kids richer than trying to help the average person that just wants food on the table and a chance to get ahead in life? You’re fine with the taxpayer money being spent at exorbitant rates for the Secret Service to be housed at Mar-a-Lago, etc., so Trump companies make a profit off his failed presidency?

Say any stupid thing you want about President Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders. They are men of character, grace, humility and humanity who understand we need to help our fellow mankind, not lie and steal from them. I thought Republicans were supposed to be such good Christians. Mr. Kuiper, Jesus would be ashamed of you.
