Letter: Stop politicizing the pandemic

It is amazing to see what this pandemic has exposed in our society: Politicizing medical issues like mask-wearing, and advocating against giving vaccine shots to students at their schools.

Those of us born in the 1930s could get our shots at school for all kinds of vaccines, and they were often given to us by the school nurse; another thing, it seems, of the past. And, if I remember correctly, most parents were delighted that their children were being protected.

So please, let’s remember that this pandemic is not a political issue. Here is an idea: let’s try, once again, to pull together as a country and put our health issues above political views.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
