BATTLE GROUND — Battle Ground High School’s Drama Club recently returned to the stage for the first time in more than a year. It performed a sketch written by senior Andrew Ovall and junior Lorelei Hunsaker called “A Radio Play,” a murder mystery.

The club held three shows at The Lair inside Battle Ground High School over three nights, entertaining 160 people. It was a big jump back to the stage after students had been doing play readings over Zoom. According to the school’s drama teacher and director Stephen “Cash” Henry, it just wasn’t the same as in-person collaboration.

“Being back in the theater space was life-affirming,” he said in a news release. “It was so wonderful to share a communal, creative experience with a live, in-person audience again, to be together, to share laughter, to share life.”
