Letter: Vaccine protesters are selfish

By Arlene Clark, Vancouver
Published: June 20, 2021, 6:00am

I am shocked at the protesters against the means of curbing the COVID-19 pandemic. Most appear to be young adults, whose parents dutifully had them immunized against childhood viral diseases (mumps, measles, etc.) as required to allow them public school attendance.

The protesters will get their COVID-19 antibodies by having this very infectious disease soon, but they have selfishly forgotten that they will spread it to their family and friends. Some may not survive.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
