Letter: Payout raises questions

By Diane Ashton, Vancouver

What a waste of public money to give such a large payout to someone (Steve Webb) who is leaving the school district. This is what’s not being said: When a district administrator is put on administrative leave, and given such a huge payout (or should I say payoff) to leave immediately, it seems to me that something bad/illegal, either on the part of the board or Webb, has occurred. The payout and agreements seem likely to avoid potentially costly litigation. I say, “grow up all of you” and use the money for the needs of our students.
