Clark County reports 44 new COVID-19 cases, no new deaths on Wednesday

Testing data shows the percentage of positive results went up slightly in the most recent data available

Clark County recorded 44 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths in the latest data released Wednesday by Clark County Public Health.

The new cases push the county’s total to 19,137 cases to date. There has been an average of about 38 new cases a day reported since Friday, up from about 34 cases a day in the previous two weeks.

The number of total deaths held steady at 241 as of Wednesday, according to Public Health data.

There were 285 active cases still in their isolation period, up from 275 on Tuesday, according to Public Health.

There were 18 people hospitalized in Clark County with COVID-19, down from 19 on Tuesday, and four people hospitalized awaiting test results, up from three on Tuesday, according to Public Health.

The proportion of positive COVID-19 tests increased slightly in the most recent data available, from Feb. 28 through March 6. Public Health reported a positivity rate of 3.37 percent, with 202 positive results out of 5,999 tests. That’s up from a rate of 3.07 percent, with 216 positive results out of 7,028 tests in the previous week.

Public Health also reported that as of Saturday, 123,102 doses of COVID-19 vaccine has been administered in Clark County. It reported that 98,910 Clark County residents have received at least one dose and 47,057 Clark County residents are fully vaccinated.

Clark County has been allocated 6,950 first doses and 12,100 second doses for the seven days ending Sunday, according to Public Health.
