Letter: Thanks for a bit of history

Thank you so much, Will Campbell, for publishing the story about your great-grandfather Herbert J. Campbell in last Sunday’s Columbian (“100 years of Campbells and The Columbian,” May 2). It was very informative and helped fill in some history of the town I was born and raised in.

The Columbian has always been a top-notch newspaper and has been my source for local news since I can remember. I love stories that tie our community to our neighbors across the river and am so grateful your family found Vancouver worthy of a home for great journalism.

The information about the Linotype machine was fascinating to me. If I were a Campbell that letter “C” would be made into a necklace or bracelet or paperweight or tie tack (you get the idea) and passed down to future generations. What a keepsake.
