Cady Gruenberg’s one-out RBI single scored Candice Adams in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Battle Ground softball team to an 8-7 win over Skyview on Wednesday and keep the Tigers unbeaten.
Skyview rallied from a 7-3 deficit to tie the game with single run in the fifth and sixth inning, then two in the top of the seventh on Carmela Hansen’s double and Abbi Railey’s sacrifice fly.
In the bottom of the seventh, Adams started the rally with a one-out single. Mallory Meyer followed with a single and Liv Gruenberg walked to load the bases ahead of Cady Gruenberg’s winning hit.
Cady Gruenberg also hit a home run in a four-run fourth for Battle Ground.
Rylee Rehbein also hit a home run and drove in three runs for the Tigers.
Addie MacPherson went 3 for 4 with a run, double and RBI for Skyview.

- Jade Gruher, Union girls golf, shot an even-par 36 at Camas Meadows, scoring 26 points in the Stableford format as the Titans beat Mountain View.
- Garik Shevchuk, Union boys soccer, scored the game’s only goal in the 58th minute as the Titans handed league-leading Mountain View a second loss.
