Letter: Lend an ear to local musicians

By Rosemary Smith, Vancouver
Published: May 30, 2021, 6:00am

Everyone has different music taste, but everyone likes music. It’s easy to not care and just listen to whatever is popular, but by doing so you’re missing out on so many local artists. It’s never too late to expand what you listen to, and if you can, show some love to local artists, too. There are some fantastic musicians in Vancouver and, especially with the loss of their venues due to the pandemic, they could use your support. I find myself constantly pleasantly surprised at the quality of music made by our local musicians, so make sure to take some time and find some local artists to listen to.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
