Tawny Malone was hired as the assistant principal at Ridgefield School District’s South Ridge Elementary School. She currently is the K-12 mathematics curriculum and instruction specialist at Evergreen Public Schools. Starting in the new position on July 1, Malone, of Ridgefield, has worked at Evergreen Public Schools since 2004, previously employed as a teacher, math and instructional coach and teacher on special assignment.

Denise Barr was hired as vice president marketing strategist at Riverview Bancorp Inc., the parent company of Riverview Community Bank, headquartered in Vancouver. Previously Barr directed marketing at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington.

Two Battle Ground Public Schools’ educators recently earned a National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification, a program that takes one to three years and helps hone teaching skills and goes beyond state licensure. They were Allison Brown, a seventh-grade English language arts and history teacher at Chief Umtuch Middle School, and Jolyn deBra, a first-grade teacher at Maple Grove Primary School.

Vancouver-based human resources and management consultant firm Barrett Business Services Inc. hired Rachael Stutzman as senior vice president of sales and marketing. She was promoted from her role as an area manager of two of the agency’s California branches.

Bill Oman was hired as executive director of learning improvement of schools and programs at Vancouver Public Schools. He is currently a senior director of secondary education at Evergreen Public Schools.

OnPoint Community Credit Union recently announced the opening of two new branches in Clark County and hired branch managers. At its Salmon Creek branch, 800 N.E. Tenney Road, JaNae Ogden, of Ridgefield, will serve as manager with the location opening on June 1. Rachel Hanson, of Vancouver, will serve as manager at OnPoint’s Hazel Dell branch, 7700 N.E. Highway 99, opening in June. OnPoint also announced it will donate $2,500 to the National Alliance on Mental Illness Southwest Washington and $2,500 to Kasper Recovery Housing.

Michelle Scott and Mitch Thompson, both employed at Battle Ground Public Schools, were recently honored by the Washington Association of School Business Professionals. Scott, the district’s chief financial officer, received the Circle of Excellence Award for Distinguished Business Official of the Year for helping spearhead a budget advisory committee. Thompson, the district’s director of business operations and risk management received the Award of Merit for his work serving the association.

The League of Women Voters of Clark County elected new officers and board members at their May 8 membership meeting. Serving one-year terms are President Nancy Halvorson; Vice President Judy Zeider; Secretary Sara Bennett; and Treasurer Sharon Brown. Elected to two-year board terms are Kelly Dyer, Ellie Hutton, Chris Strizver, Susan Strizver, Anna Brasher and Vokouhi Hovagimian. Appointed to one-year board terms are Coralee Auverson Brewer, Judy Hudson, Jo Waddell, Mary Schick, Rosanne Petersen and Gail Liberman. Members of the 2022 nominating committee are Amy Lodholz, Tracy Reilly Kelly and Dee Anne Finken. The mission of the league, a nonprofit organization, is to empower voters and defend democracy.
