Letter: Anti-vaxxers embarrass themselves

So on Wednesday, a group of anti-vaxxers thought it would be a good idea to harass children and teens going into Ridgefield High School.

Clark County Public Health, coordinating with Ridgefield High student government, held a vaccine clinic for everyone 12 and older.

Apparently this enraged our local COVID-19 nonbelieving cohort, so they organized a protest.

Standing on the sidewalk directly in front of school access, these grown-ups yelled taunts and insults at the students all day long.

The younger kids were scared and hurt. The older ones were enraged.

A couple points for the anti-vaxxers:

First, screaming in a teenager’s face will not make them listen to you.

Screaming in a pre-teen’s face (like a 12-year-old) will make them want to run away from you.

Second: for a group that yells about personal freedom (to not get vaccinated, to carry a gun, etc.), this group is sure quick to terrorize people who are exercising their own personal freedom.

Finally, for the anti-vaxxers out there, I say: don’t get tetanus shots, don’t get meningitis or rabies shots, don’t get COVID-19 or flu shots and don’t take medicine.

Darwinian principles will sort it out.
