Camas police investigate four burglaries at downtown businesses

Several people believed to be involved were taken into custody in Oregon

Several people police believe were involved in burglarizing four businesses in downtown Camas over the weekend were taken into custody Monday night in Oregon.

Camas police said the burglaries occurred in the early morning of Oct. 31 at Papermaker Pride, 327 N.E. Fourth Ave., Caps N’ Taps, 337 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas Slices, 339 N.E. Cedar St., and Birch Street Lounge, 311 N.E. Birch St.

Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office in Oregon were involved in a pursuit Monday night and arrested several people on various charges. During that investigation, deputies found evidence related to the Camas burglaries, according to the Camas Police Department.

None of the suspects are believed to live in Clark County, police said.

Camas detectives are investigating and plan to request charges be filed.
