Letter: Support LaBrant for port

By John Vanvig, Vancouver
Published: October 2, 2021, 6:00am

For experienced leadership at the Port of Vancouver, look no further than the port commission’s longest-serving member: Eric LaBrant, its current president.

The commission was in turmoil and at odds with the community six years ago, when Eric was first elected. Through calm, capable, effective leadership, he has turned that around.

While COVID-19 wrought economic havoc elsewhere last year, the Port of Vancouver logged record revenues. Its more than 50 business tenants employ almost 4,000 people.

Eric listens to the people, and delivers results. He has earned your vote to serve on the port commission.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
