EAST VANCOUVER — The fifth annual Columbia Credit Union McKibbin Legacy Classic raised $46,800 for community nonprofit organizations.

The golf tournament is named for the late John McKibbin, a longtime civic leader who died in a private plane crash in 2016. This year’s tournament supported Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center’s Child Abuse Assessment Endowment Fund, Pearson Field Education Center and Leadership Clark County.

Each nonprofit was presented with $15,600 at the Columbia Credit Union Operations Center in east Vancouver on Oct. 14.

“All of us at Columbia Credit Union are proud to ensure the continuation of John McKibbin’s commitment to our community,” said Columbia CU President and CEO Steve Kenny. “Making life better is what we’re all about and that’s what John McKibbin stood for, too.”
