Portions of Mill Plain Boulevard will close overnight next week for construction.

Between Sept. 14 and Sept. 17, parts of the roadway will be blocked off to travelers between 9 or 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., according to a media release from the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The schedule, according to WSDOT, is as follows:

  • Beginning at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14, until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will fully close the intersection of Main Street and Mill Plain Boulevard.
  • Beginning at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15 until 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, crews will close the Mill Plain Boulevard onramp to southbound Interstate 5.
  • Beginning at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16 until 5 a.m., Friday, Sept. 17, crews will close the Mill Plain Boulevard onramp to northbound I-5.

Travelers should plan to use alternate routes. The work is part of the state Highway 501 — I-5 Port of Vancouver — Intersection and Profile Improvements project, meant to make the roadway an easier and safer route for freight trucks traveling to or from the freeway and the port.
