Letter: Boycott Koch Industries products

Opinion columnist Dana Milbank details how Koch Industries is aiding Russia in its invasion of Ukraine (“Koch Industries sticks with Russia,” April 2). “Their imports, exports and taxes help prop up the Russian economy, and therefore Putin’s war effort.” Koch Industries’ continued operations in Russia serve to strengthen a dictatorship and make money for itself. These two goals have been with the company from the beginning. Fred C. Koch, father of the Koch brothers, helped construct a major oil refinery in Nazi Germany that was personally approved by Adolf Hitler. That oil factory was a critical industrial cog in Hitler’s war machine. The Kochs were never on the side of freedom and democracy.

Koch Industries is fairly untouchable. However, you can withdraw your support for their actions by withdrawing your money. Their major holdings are hard to boycott, as you will most likely buy energy products either directly or indirectly from them. Nonetheless, you can stop buying Georgia-Pacific products such as Brawny or Zee napkins and Invista products such as Lycra and Stainmaster carpet. A more complete list is found with a Google search of “boycott Koch products.”

Tell Koch Industries you oppose its support of Russia’s war against Ukraine in the only language it hears: profits.
