CAMAS — Members of 100 Women Who Care Clark County presented $4,000 to the Camas Educational Foundation on Feb. 23 at their first meeting of 2022. Board President Rainy Rau accepted the funds on behalf of the organization. The local giving circle selected the Camas Educational Foundation to receive its donations at the fourth meeting of 2021, held on Dec. 1. Kimberly Koch, owner of Camas treat shop Truly Scrumptious, nominated the organization at the December meeting. Camas Washougal Community Chest and Camas Community Garden were the other nonprofit nominees at that meeting. Rau described the Camas Educational Foundation as “venture capitalists for education,” funding extraordinary learning opportunities for students in the Camas School District through large and small financial grants. Recent projects that have received Camas Education Foundation grants range from high school robotics to visual-thinking strategies to creative arts programs to community gardens.

The Camas Educational Foundation is especially grateful for this donation to support rebuilding many programs, which have stalled during the past two years of disrupted learning, its officials said.
