Letter: Kreidler loses leadership value

There are numerous reports that Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler has resorted to verbal mistreatment of staff to the extent that nearly 25 percent have either retired or chosen to quit. Conditions have worsened over the last year as the commissioner continues to go it alone in his pursuit to bypass the Legislature and a Thurston County judge with regards to the removal of good credit score insurance discounts. He has also been described by some as currently “not fit to lead” including calls for immediate resignation.

After 22 years in office it appears that Commissioner Kreidler, who is under intense scrutiny from lawsuits to many complaints for his single-handed assault on responsible low-income people, needs to step down. It’s now become apparent Kreidler no longer works for constituents but is instead mired in his own personal agenda. When elected officials mentally reach that self-power point, their leadership value deteriorates rapidly.
