The Hazel Dell Parade of Bands will return May 21 after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Hazel Dell/Salmon Creek Business Association sponsors the parade, which features dozens of high school marching bands from across the Northwest, as well as floats and equestrian entries.

This year’s theme is “We’re Back in The Saddle, Again.” The parade will start at 10 a.m. at Clark County Fire District 6, 8800 N.E. Hazel Dell Ave.

Starting at 10 a.m. that day, roads along the parade route will be closed, including Hazel Dell Avenue, Northeast 63rd Street from Hazel Dell Avenue to Highway 99, and Highway 99 north to 78th Street. The parade usually ends shortly after 1 p.m.

Register an entry at the business association’s website (hdscba.org). You can also register in person until May 13 at the Clark County Fire District 6 headquarters on Hazel Dell Avenue.
