A crash involving at least one tractor-trailer rig closed all lanes of Interstate 5 on Friday afternoon just north of the 99th Street exit in Hazel Dell. The closure lasted more than an hour.

Multiple agencies responded to the crash reported at 1:30 p.m. According to police radio traffic monitored in The Columbian newsroom, no one was injured but at least one person was taken into custody. No other confirmed details were available.

Traffic quickly backed up as emergency responders closed the freeway. By 2:30 p.m. the northbound lanes were slowed to state Highway 500 with southbound lanes backed up to the Interstate 205 junction. The 99th Street Exit was also closed for about an hour

Southbound lanes reopened about 2:20 p.m. with northbound lanes reopening shortly after 3 p.m.
