A family was displaced after a shop fire spread to their Amboy house Sunday afternoon, and the house caught fire again shortly after midnight, according to Clark County Fire District 10.

It was unclear if the first fire, reported at about 4:40 p.m., had re-ignited and caused the house fire, or if it was a separate blaze. Both are under investigation by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office, according to Fire District 10 Capt. Ben Goble.

Fire District 10 crews were first called to 19719 N.E. 399th St., for a fire in an unattached shop. The blaze spread to the house, causing limited damage to the residence, Goble said.

Clark County Fire District 13, Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue and Clark County Fire District 3 were called to assist. The blaze was under control in about 30 minutes, Goble said. No one was injured. The Red Cross was called to assist the displaced family.

Fire District 10 crews were dispatched again, at 12:22 a.m., for a fire at the same property. Goble said the second fire caused significant damage to the house. Crews cleared around 3 a.m.

“We couldn’t have done it without all of the volunteers that Clark County Fire District 10 has that showed up and all of our mutual aid partners that assisted with it,” Goble said of the fire response.
