Raptors Road Trip: Walla Walla 1, Ridgefield 0

With a West Coast League playoff push coming down to the final week of the regular season, the Ridgefield Raptors were shut out for the third time this season to open the series at Walla Walla, 1-0, on Tuesday.

KEY MOMENTS: Walla Walla’s Trent Sellers scored the game’s only run in the second inning on a passed ball following a leadoff single. … Doyle Kane (hit by pitch) and Riley McCarthy (single) got on base for the Raptors in the ninth, before Austin Caviness grounded into a 5-3 double play for the final two outs.

KEY PLAYERS: Walla Walla starting pitcher Nick Wilson threw six scoreless innings with six strikeouts, no walks and three hits allowed. … Ridgefield starter Jeter Schuerman struck out nine with two walks and five hits allowed in eight innings pitched.

NEXT GAME: Ridgefield (29-19 overall, 13-9 second half) at Walla Walla (21-28, 9-13), 6:35 p.m. Wednesday.
