Raptors Road Trip: Ridgefield clinches playoff berth with win at Walla Walla

The Ridgefield Raptors weren’t going to be held to just one run like Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to the Walla Walla Sweets. They got the bats working Wednesday night at Borleske Stadium and clinched a West Coast League playoff berth with an 11-4 victory.

KEY MOMENTS: Ridgefield batted around in the sixth inning, sending 10 batters to the plate and scoring five runs on three hits to take a 7-2 lead.

KEY PLAYERS: Jacob Sharp went 3 for 5 with two doubles, his 12th home run of the season, and four RBI. … Jake Tsukada was 3 for 6 with an RBI. … Travis Welker was 2 for 5 with three RBI and three runs scored. … And it was a great night on the mound for Ridgefield.Eli Shubert earned his second win of the season with three innings of no-hit relief. He struck out four with one walk. … Braiden Youkon made his Raptors debut and retired the side in order in the eighth inning.

NEXT GAME: Ridgefield (30-19 overall, 14-9 second half) at Walla Walla (21-29, 9-14), 7:05 p.m. Thursday.
