Letter: Kent rides Trump coattails

As a frequent visitor to this part of the country, I always enjoy the beauty and charm of the greater Camas area. Today, however, upon answering the front door where I was staying, I was a bit taken aback by a campaign worker for the congressional candidate Joe Kent.

I credit the campaign worker’s politeness, but it was highly annoying to me that the position of Joe Kent was to ride on the coattails of Trump instead of being able to stand on his own two feet. During my short conversation with this campaign worker, it was clear to me that Kent’s campaign was merely out in force to garner support for his campaign by using the FBI’s raid on Trump as a means to persuade and mislead voters away from real issues.

I know very little about Mr. Kent, but I would suggest that he learn to be his own candidate. This country needs people in Congress that will work on meaningful legislation instead of continuing the pettiness of a former president.
