Letter: Kent should display honor

By Charles Cousins, Vancouver
Published: December 8, 2022, 6:00am

We have a right to debate what must be done in service to our nation. But supporting an avowed enemy of the state is not debate, it’s against everything — absolutely everything — I expect a soldier to stand for.

Joe Kent needs to step up and make clear to whom or what he stakes his honor. Kent has a right to request a recount, if he can pay for it. That’s his nickel. Rather, the nickel of his supporters. But I want to hear Joe Kent do what any soldier must: defend the Constitution against an avowed enemy — even if that enemy endorsed his campaign.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
