Girls basketball highlights: Camas wins 4A GSHL opener over Skyview

Addison Harris’ game-high 27 points was one of three Papermakers to score in double figures in Camas’ 74-42 4A Greater St. Helens League road win over Skyview on Friday. It was the league opener for both teams.

Camas jumped out to an early 24-6 lead in the first quarter.

Reagan Jamison added a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. She also added seven steals and seven blocks. Parker Mairs chipped in 13, and played what Camas coach Scott Thompson called “incredible defense all night.”

Kiera Parks led Skyview with 20 points, including 7 of 9 at the free-throw line.

PRAIRIE 39, HERITAGE 35 — Freshman Emma Smith scored 17 points and Maddie Clousev added 10 as Prairie remained unbeaten in 3A GSHL play. Both combined to hit seven 3-pointers.

A 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter sealed the win for the Falcons in what Heritage coach Jacob Kaler called a defensive battle all game. In the fourth quarter, the teams combined for just nine points.

“We got really good looks, but we could not finish,” Kaler said.

Keanna Salavea finished with 15 to lead the Timberwolves.

KELSO 39, MOUNTAIN VIEW 19 — Lexi Grumbois scored 13 points as Kelso beat visiting Mountain View in the 3A GSHL matchup.

Katelyn Henderson led the Thunder with seven points.

EVERGREEN 49, KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN 37 — Adrian Wright’s 15 points led the way for the Plainsmen in their road win over the 1A Knights. Aniyanan Sefronio-Byrd added seven and Christian Nguyen and Kimora Ross each had six for Evergreen.

Bridget Quinn had 12 points, seven rebounds, three steals and three assists to lead King’s Way.

RIDGEFIELD 63, R.A. LONG 17 — Janessa Chatman scored 15 points and Savannah Chanda had 12 as the Spudders beat visiting R.A. Long in the 2A GSHL game.

Breyelle Box had four points, four rebounds and two steals for R.A. Long, and Malia Byrnes had three blocked shots.

MARK MORRIS 43, FORT VANCOUVER 10 — Isaballa Merzoian’s 14 points led the Monarchs in their league victory over the Trappers.
