All C-Tran routes to be free on New Year’s Eve

All C-Tran routes will be free from 6 p.m. New Year’s Eve through the end of service.

Additionally, service will be extended on routes 37, 60, 65, 71 and 80 and The Vine to about 2 a.m. Jan. 1.

“If you’re heading out to ring in 2023, be safe, plan ahead and let C-Tran do the driving instead of getting behind the wheel,” a C-Tran press release said. “Transit is a safe, smart alternative to driving.”

In Portland, TriMet and the Portland Streetcar are providing free service after 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve. Most MAX lines will operate until approximately 2 a.m.
