Letter: Donate blood for good of all

In the over six years I’ve been volunteering with BloodworksNW I have not seen our blood supply so low, at very dangerously low levels. I’m asking that readers and their families and friends please step up and consider donating blood. It only takes about an hour; the pint of blood you donate helps save three lives.

I’m sure we all know someone who has received blood, like cancer patients, surgeries, and burn victims.

If you are not able to donate, please let your state representatives know that a bill in the Legislature for a tax credit to incentivize blood donation would be a good thing for the citizens of Washington.

Please check out Bloodworksnw.org to learn more about donating or to make an appointment. Or contact the American Red Cross. Lots of lives will thank you.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
