Letter: Thanks to community helpers

It’s 2022 and COVID-19 cases are still with us. For almost two years the caregivers in hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and testing centers have faced the constant stress of this pandemic. Thank you! We owe you a debt of gratitude for which words are not sufficient.

Firefighters and EMS staff have transported the sick with compassion. Your regard for the other does not go unnoticed. Thank you!

Service workers, too many to name from mass transit employees to grocery workers and so many others, you have given us some normal life. Thank you!

Educators and support staff, you have helped children and families with not just learning but much-needed support at risk to your own health. Thank you!

We are all wearied by the stress of the pandemic. Imagine how the stress of the daily threat of COVID-19 has affected these community helpers. Yet they carry on. I have immense admiration for them all.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
