Clark County law enforcement agencies are increasing DUI patrols for the Fourth of July weekend.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Battle Ground Police Department, Vancouver Police Department and Washington State Patrol will be conducting extra patrols to stop people driving under the influence, according to the Washington Traffic Commission.

The traffic commission reminds people to always drive sober, plan ahead if someone plans to consume drugs or alcohol, intervene if someone under the influence plans to drive and buckle up.

More than 50 percent of fatal crashes in Washington involve a driver who is under the influence, according to the traffic commission.
