Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 call of a burglary in progress at a business at 8700 N.E. Hazel Dell Ave. on Friday evening.

Deputies arrived on the scene at approximately 6:21 p.m. and found a man barricaded behind a door inside the business. After multiple unsuccessful pleas for him to exit the building, deputies and the Vancouver police K9 team entered the business and confronted the man, who surrendered without incident.

Jacob R. Hathaway, 31, was arrested and transported to an area hospital for evaluation by medical personnel for reasons unrelated to his arrest. He was later booked into the Clark County Jail on burglary and malicious mischief charges.
