Letter: What is a conscience worth?

I see that golfer Brooks Koepka, tempted no doubt by the million-dollar signing bonuses being offered, has turned his back on America’s PGA tour and joined the Saudi-backed LIV tour.

The Saudis, flush as always with massive amounts of cash, seem willing to pay just about anything to try and clean up their reputation, damaged when they lured Jamal Khashoggi, an Arab journalist critical of the Saudi monarchy, into the consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, murdered him, cut up his body, and disposed of it.

I’ve been curious lately what a good conscience and a little character is worth. The answer seems to be $150 million or $250 million.
