Vancouver Symphony Orchestra USA announces new board chair

ESTHER SHORT — The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra USA recently announced the appointment of board member Carol Van Natta as board chair and two new members to the board of directors: Charlene Hiss and Ken Kirn. Van Natta succeeds Victoria Tullett, who had served as chair since 2019.

“It is a privilege to serve as chair of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra board,” Van Natta said. “The VSO has been an enormous asset to our community for over 40 years, and the upcoming season promises to be one of its very best.”

Van Natta is now in her second term as a board member for the VSO. With more than 40 years’ experience as a fundraising professional. She has served on boards with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, the Nonprofit Network of Southwest Washington, Columbia Credit Union and others. She was executive director of the PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Foundation from 2013 to 2019.

“It has been an honor serving the VSO as board chair, and I am thrilled to welcome Carol in this role,” said Victoria Tullett, who will now serve as immediate past chair. “Her proven leadership capabilities, strategic vision and dedication to the VSO’s mission will be an incredible asset during her tenure.”

At this time, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestraboard of directors is comprised of Van Natta, Tullett, Ann Bardacke, Dr. David Bloom, Dr. Tammy Bloom, Paul Christensen, Charlene Hiss, Ken Kirn, Tim Kraft, Dr. Michael Liu, Steve McCarthy and Dr. David Smith.
