Letter: Jan. 6 panel is biased

I totally agree with the letter “Whoppers are told about Trump” (Our Readers’ Views, July 13). A very biased Jan. 6 panel has gone on seeking statements, taken out of context, in order to discredit former President Donald Trump and aim to keep him from running for president in the 2024 election.

Enough is enough. Shouldn’t we be working on the economy and inflation, which is the highest in 40 years? Immigration across our border? Gas prices, taking us from being independent of other countries by stopping the pipeline and reducing federal land leases.

It will take some effort for our country to recover from Biden’s bad decisions.

What about the “peaceful demonstrations” in Portland and Seattle? People were injured, and buildings, stores and property were destroyed. Lawlessness and destruction allowed to go on for months.

Oh, I almost forgot, these demonstrations were not in Washington, D.C., where our politicians reside and might be in danger. They were where the citizens of these two cities reside. Were they not in danger?

Also, let’s get over the Roe v. Wade decision and follow the Constitution by allowing each state to make its own decision based on the citizens of that state. Not by politicians.
