YACOLT — The Washington Department of Corrections reported 24 active COVID-19 cases among staff members over the last 14 days at Larch Corrections Center, according to a Thursday bulletin.
The minimum-security prison near Yacolt was placed on facilitywide outbreak status after one incarcerated individual and three staff members tested positive, the DOC reported earlier this month. There were two active cases among incarcerated individuals as of Thursday, down from 20 reported last week.
To date, 438 incarcerated individuals and 90 staff members have tested positive at Larch, according to the DOC. The majority of those cases came during an outbreak in late 2020, when more than 90 percent of the inmate population tested positive.
Larch also saw an outbreak that started in early February and lasted more than a month.
