Northeast 10th Avenue between Northeast 149th Street and 154th streets in Salmon Creek is now open to through traffic.

Clark County Public Works opened the road Thursday for public use, though the areas surrounding the nearby culvert and stormwater facility still need to be planted. The planting is scheduled for sometime in November and December this year, with plans to establish the plants and implement irrigation over the next two years.

There may be periodic single-lane closures during that time, but the road will remain open to through traffic.

Recent construction included the addition of bike lanes, sidewalks, a center left-turn lane, a signal at the intersection of 149th Street and a new culvert at the creek crossing north of 149th Street. Public works also installed retaining walls, a sanitary sewer main, water main and stormwater facilities.

The project is part of an effort to improve 10th Avenue. Previous construction to the road between Northeast 154th and 164th Streets included a new bridge over Whipple Creek in 2018.

More information can be found on the county’s website clark.wa.gov/public-works/northeast-10th-avenue-creek-crossing.
