Letter: Thanks to gardening columnist

Thanks to The Columbian for running the excellent column “Gardening With Allen.” It’s really good. Allen Wilson is knowledgeable and practical. There are many instances where his advice has paid off. My new hydrangeas were suffering during the heat dome of last June. As they crinkled up and started browning, he advised cutting back the dead stuff and waiting. He was right! They came right back.

It’s a fun read, well-written and useful. Thank you!
