Letter: Celebrate successful students

No wonder the Evergreen Public Schools has difficulty passing a levy! The billboard at an Evergreen middle school read “We Celebrate our LGBTQIA Community.” How about celebrating those who serve daily without clamoring for parades and special recognition? I am looking forward to schools getting back to celebrating the educational values they were intended to teach. How about celebrating the community of students with good grades, excellent behavior, perfect attendance and/or other educational accomplishments?

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
