Letter: NRA leads nation down wrong path

By Herbert Bartling, Vancouver

Yet once again, we have been led down the path by politicians, the NRA and the arms industry. The headlines have been about “gun control” rather than more appropriately about “elimination of some types of guns.”

The contrast in ethics of NRA leaders with those of the late Republican President George H.W. Bush, a WWII hero who rejected the NRA, is appalling!

We must update the Second Amendment to the Constitution and take away the obscene amount of money made by the arms industry selling military weapons to civilians.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
