Letter: Quiring O’Brien misunderstands role

When Eileen Quiring O’Brien submitted her resignation letter from the Clark County Council, she said it had been a privilege “to serve the people who elected me.” I had hoped she might have seen her role as council chair to serve all of the people of Clark County, even those who may not have voted for her. Consequently, it was not too surprising when, on her way out the door, she took a swipe at Councilors Temple Lentz and Julie Olson, calling them “uncollegial” apparently because she and they were on opposite sides of a number of issues. An instance of the pot calling the kettle black, maybe?

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
