Bobbing along

Metropolitan Performing Arts presents “SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical for Everyone” Friday through April 3 at the Black Box Theater, 6403 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. with weekend matinees at 2 p.m. This Sunday is Family Day when all tickets are $12. Regular admission tickets bought in advance at www.metropolitanperformingarts.org are $18 for adults or $14 for students, seniors and military; tickets at the door are $2 more. Masks are required inside the theater.

A little night music

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra welcomes jazz clarinetist and saxophonist Ken Peplowski and Grammy-nominated guitarist Diego Figueiredo to its Evening of Jazz live benefit concert and dinner. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Heathman Lodge, 7801 N.E. Greenwood Drive, Vancouver. Tickets are $100, on sale at vancouversymphony.org or 360-735-7278. Proof of vaccination is required to attend.

Eggs-citing times

Vancouver Mall, 8700 N.E. Vancouver Mall Drive, is hosting a free Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The hunt takes place throughout the mall. Scavenger hunt checklists are available from the MyPerks Lounge on the second level. The event is free for MyPerks members, but anyone can join the mall’s MyPerks program for no charge; learn more at www.shopvancouvermall.com.

Dances with Elks

Ballroom Dance with Us offers dancing for ages 18 and over from 6- 8:15 p.m. Sundays through April 24 at Vancouver Elks Lodge #823, 11605 S.E. McGillivray Blvd., Vancouver. Learn cha cha, East Coast swing and other dance styles. The cost ranges from $12 for one evening to $60 for six weeks. The Seedling Writing Workshop, led by Clark County’s Poet Laureate Armin Tolentino, helps attendees ages 16 and older generate new writing and poetry in a supportive atmosphere. No writing experience is necessary. The next session is 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday in person at Cascades Presbyterian Church, 9503 N.E. 86th St., Vancouver.
