The Board of Directors for Educational Service District 112 announced Thursday that they have selected Kevin Davis to fill its vacant District 7 seat.

Davis replaces Ann Campbell, who resigned in January after 27 years of service. District 7 represents Roosevelt, Wishram, Centerville, Klickitat, Glenwood, Trout Lake, Lyle, White Salmon Valley, Mill A, Stevenson-Carson, Skamania, Washougal, Mount Pleasant, and Camas school districts, as well as part of Evergreen Public Schools.

Davis will step into the position with 35 years of experience as a teacher, administrator and coach — most recently as the superintendent of the Klickitat School District. He holds a bachelor’s degree, teaching certificates and a master’s degree from Washington State University.

“As the leader of a small school district, I relied on many of the services provided by ESD 112,” Davis said in a press release on Thursday. “Services like business management, legal support, public relations support, and everything in between, were critical to us, and I have a unique understanding of the importance of the ESD for rural schools.”

Davis is scheduled to be sworn in at the ESD 112 board meeting at 3 p.m. on March 29.
